Moong Dal ChutneyIngredients for preparing Moong Dal Chutney

  • Moong Dal (Cherupayar Parippu)  - 1 cup
  • Red Chillies  -  3  nos.
  • Coconut  -   ½  cup
  • Garlic  -   3  cloves
  • Salt to taste  -  ½   tsp
  • Mustard Seeds  -  ½  tsp
  • Curry Leaves  -  a few (optional)
  • Oil  -  1 tsp
  • Water  -  1 cup

Steps for preparing Moong Dal Chutney

  1. Slightly fry the moong dal in a skillet over medium heat for some time.
  2. Grind roasted dal along with the remaining ingredients in a blender with 1 cup of warm water into fine paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pan; add mustard seeds, when they splutter add curry leaves and fry it. Add this seasoning to the above prepared paste.
  4. Delicious moong dal chutney is ready, transfer to a bowl and serve along with dosa.
