Mixed Dal Fry Recipe

Ingredients for preparing Mixed Dal Fry

  • Moong Dal Parippu( Cherupayar Parippu) -  1 ½ cup
  • Red Gram Lentils/Masore dal – 1 ½  cup
  • Urad Dal (Uzhunnuparippu) -  1 ½ cup
  • Onion: Slit length wise – 10 nos.
  • Dry Red Chillies - 12 nos.
  • Chilli Powder   -  1 ½ tsp
  • Turmeric Powder  –   ½  tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 2 tsp
  • Curry Leaves - 4 stalks
  • Coriander Leaves - 3 stalks
  • Chopped Mint Leaves(Pudina) –  8  tsp
  • Oil -  3  tbsp
  • Maggie Extra Vegetable Cubes   - 5 Packets
  • Salt to taste – ½  tsp

Steps for preparing Mixed Dal Fry

  1. Mix moong dal, masore dal and urad dal in a bowl and soak in water for 1 hour.
  2. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add dry red chilli, cumin seed, curry leaves and chopped onion. Saute till it turns golden brown.
  3. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and soaked dal. Saute for 5 minutes.
  4. Add 1 cup of water to the sautéed mixture. Cover it with a lid and let it boil till the water dries up.
  5. Finally add Maggie extra vegetable cubes, salt, coriander leaves and mint leaves. Stir it well and remove from the fire.
  6. Serve hot.
